About the job

One of our clients in financial services is seeking a Senior AWS Data Engineer to build and support enterprise cloud data solutions.

The work centers on AWS engineering, enterprise integration, ETL development and cloud-native data platforms. You will partner with architecture, engineering and business teams to deliver dependable solutions and support them in production.

Markit EDM (Cadis) or Master Data Management experience is valuable. The central requirement is AWS data engineering and enterprise integration; this is not a dedicated Markit EDM development role.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop and support enterprise data solutions on AWS.
  • Build scalable ETL pipelines and cloud-native integrations across enterprise systems.
  • Develop and maintain REST APIs that connect data platforms and business applications.
  • Create cloud-based ingestion and transformation workflows with dependable operational support.
  • Work with architecture, data engineering and business teams to translate requirements into scalable solutions.
  • Investigate production incidents and improve cloud workload performance.
  • Contribute to data quality, governance and enterprise integration initiatives.
  • Deliver reusable, maintainable components following established AWS engineering practices.

Required Qualifications

  • Strong hands-on experience engineering solutions on AWS.
  • Proficiency in Python.
  • Proficiency in SQL.
  • Experience developing ETL processes and integrating data in enterprise environments.
  • Experience developing or integrating REST APIs.
  • Practical experience with AWS Lambda.
  • Practical experience with AWS Glue.
  • Practical experience with Amazon EventBridge.
  • Experience building cloud-native applications and supporting production systems.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Exposure to Markit EDM (Cadis).
  • Master Data Management experience.
  • Understanding of Security Master or reference data platforms.
  • Snowflake experience.
  • Kafka experience.
  • C# or .NET development experience.
  • A financial services background.
  • Knowledge of data governance and enterprise data management.
