BI Analyst — Power BI

About the job

One of our clients is seeking a BI Analyst to develop data models, dashboards and Power Platform solutions that make business performance understandable.

Responsibilities

• Clean, transform and shape source data with Power Query and SQL.
• Build relational models and DAX calculations for metrics and analysis.
• Create interactive dashboards, multipage reports and performance scorecards.
• Translate business needs into KPIs and technical reporting specifications.
• Deliver enterprise solutions using Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI and Power Pages aligned with business and operational needs.

Required Qualifications

• A bachelor’s degree in a quantitative discipline and at least two years of data analysis experience.
• At least two years in business intelligence, data analysis or report development.
• Experience preparing, transforming and modeling data in Power BI Desktop and Power BI Service.
• Strong DAX skills for calculated columns, measures, totals and complex filter contexts.
• Experience using Power Query for multisource ETL and data cleansing.
• Knowledge of relational and star-schema modeling, including facts, dimensions and their relationships.
• SQL query-writing skills and proficiency with Excel for initial exploration and ad hoc analysis.
• Experience building Power Pages sites, forms and lists, including authentication and security permissions.
• Ability to deliver responsive, accessible Power Pages experiences using the design studio, HTML, CSS and JavaScript.
• Knowledge of web roles, table permissions and Azure AD authentication.
• Ability to present data through clear, interactive charts, matrices and maps.
• Understanding of business KPIs and operational goals.
• Ability to gather stakeholder requirements, explain findings simply and collaborate with business analysts.
• Advanced data manipulation skills using Excel, Python or R.
• Experience with Power Query M transformations and star schemas.
• Ability to work with developers, analysts, QA, trainers and production support on reporting solutions and leadership insights.
